Seattle Seawolves hire respected new rugby coach from South Africa

The Seattle Seawolves named Anton Moolman head coach as the championship Major League Rugby team prepares for its second season.

Moolman was rugby director for the Western Province Rugby Academy in South Africa and has coached several players onto the country's national team, known as the Springboks.

The team will open its 2109 training camp in November to prepare players for the 2019 season.

In a news release announcing the hire, Shane Skinner, co-owner of the Seattle Seawolves, said the pick shows that the team remains committed to building the best rugby club in the league.

“Anton is the ideal choice to further that goal and maintain the momentum of last year’s championship season," Skinner said. "We are firmly focused on becoming the best both on and off the field."
